Add Other Faculty to a Course in Brightspace

Faculty have the ability to add other faculty members to their Brightspace course shells. The most common examples of this are 1) adding Lead Instructors to load content to a course or 2) adding a colleague for course observations.

Brightspace Roles

As instructor of a course, there are certain times where you may want to add another faculty member to your course, including course observations or adding a lead instructor to load content into the course shell. Below is a list of the different roles faculty may have within a Brightspace course, and what they can and cannot do if enrolled as each role.

Email Course Classlist

Instructors are able to email their entire class at once, or select individual students to email. This guide will explain both methods of emailing students.

Using the Accommodations Tool

The Accommodations tool provides the option to grant a student additional time for all existing and future quizzes. Options using this method include: Additional time to complete quizzes and enabling right-click functions. Using this tool will apply the accommodation to all of that student’s quizzes in the course.
